  2. When Smartie died i was devastated he died of old age in my arms . It was so sad but he had no pain he just went peacefully. I was put onto the guinea pig rescue for a friend for Herbie because I didn't want him to be lonely . When I met Sarah I was so pleased when she bought Peanut out we all love him and Herbie loves him too and his now his new daddy. Thank you Sarah and all the guinea pig rescue workers what an amazing job you all do rescuing these beautiful loveable animals . Keep up the good work .

  5. Just to let you know that Alice's new friend is settling in very well. My son has named her Jessie which does seem to suit her. They were both a bit nervous to start with and took a day to get used to each other but they are now getting on really well - it's lovely to see them together. Thanks so much for helping Alice choose such a lovely new friend, Jessie really is gorgeous! I would highly recommend anyone considering getting guinea pigs to contact you first :-)

  6. We where so sad when our guinea pig Rosie died and so was her life long
companion Daisy. One of our friends told us about a wonderful place where we could find a new friend for Daisy a bit like speed dating for guinea pigs. Wow, how wonderful, we dropped Daisy off and left her for 1 hour and by the time we returned she had choosen a new friend and looked so much happier. Within 10 minutes of getting Daisy and her new friend Poppy home they where both happily eating grass together in our outdoor run. We are so grateful to Sarah for all of her help, advise and kindness and would recommend this service to anyone.

They've settled in so quickly and are so confident and love to be stroked through the bars and when out in the run. I'm so glad you let us rehome these beautiful girls. 11. Thank you so much for my 2 new boy piggies!!! Being a first time piggy owner you gave me all the information I need and knowing I can call on your advice on an ongoing basis is great to know if I need it. 15. Thank you Sarah for our lovely new boys Ben and Gerry they are both lovely and very affectionate and as you said do love there food. Although we have previously had guinnie pigs they have all been girls and we had them from babies so I was a little apprehensive that older boys would not be so happy to be handled. They however are very easy to handle actually much less nervous than the babies we had previously, they do not fight are not at all smelly they are actually cleaner than the girls. They arrived to us very healthy and well fed and I certainly would have no reservations about having boys in the future.

  19. I would like to thank Sarah for introducing me to 'Roadrunner', now called Pumpkin. Well,it seemed to suit her better, who has now settled in very well with my other two rescued guineas, Jasmine and Little Bear, despite not coming out of the pet carrier for 24 hours when she first arrived. Sarah said she is a character and she is, a very determined one, especially where food is concerned! Consequently, she has put on weight, but in a good way and if she can boss the other two around, she will give it a go. She's absolutely lovely. Sarah is dedicated to these little furries and hugely knowledgeable, especially we noticed, on handling and health checks. She also gives great advice and will help smooth the adoption process in any way she can. She is doing such a good job, please, if you are thinking of getting guinea pigs, support the Guinea Pig Ranch and adopt before going to a pet shop. I guarantee you will find what you are looking for amongst her many little charges, all deserving of that forever home. You would be doing such a great thing.

  20. Hi Sarah, Thank you so much finding a friend for Squeaky, Sparky is gorgeous and Sqeaky 'has come alive', after only one night here, they were both running up and down the ramp, through the tunnel and they love the grass house. I cannot believe the difference in Squeaky when he was alone, he was very quiet. He now chatters as well. He is a different guinea pig. Its nice to know too if I have any problems, I have only got to ask, it is very reassuring to be able to turn to someone who is very knowledgeable. Thank you again Sarah,

  23. Last year we adopted two male piggies for our young children aged 4 and 7.Sarah and Martin helped us through the whole process with honesty and support.
The guineas we named Minto and Ping-Pong had not been handled and were so lively. It took a lot of hard work and constant handling and we had frustrated kids on many occasions. But boy was it worth it !
We now have the most chilled out and friendly pair who have even fallen asleep in the kids laps

Thank you so much Sarah for all your "spot on" advice, endless replies to my desperate emails offering different tactics to try.
Our piggies came back to the ranch in the summer as holiday boarders and it gave us peace of mind that they were there while we were away.

Sarah and Martin as truly dedicated as well as having their own young family to care for.
Please consider adopting from them instead of opting for a shop brought pet as you really can make a difference and help their worthwhile and amazing rescue centre.

  24. Sarah has been absolutely wonderful to us, supporting us through the process of both rehoming and adopting! Her ranch of piggies that she cares for with such dedication is inspiring to see.
We are now the happy owners of two lovely teddy pigs but we wish Sarah and all her piggies all the very best.
Anyone who would like a pig addition to their family should meet Sarah, and anyone who has spare bedding or veggies should donate!!

  26. We adopted two male guinea pigs, one dad, one son. When we visited the first time, Sarah gave us lots of good info and answered all our questions in great detail. She also showed us a number of guinea pigs, not just the ones we wanted. She was EXTREMELY quick at answering emails and also was very easy to contact. By the time we came to pick them up,she had already done a full health check, trimming etc. We are now very happy with them. There are no problems or concerns with the guinea pigs, and they are settling in very well!
Overall, I think that Sarah is a very knowledgeable person.
    Thank you

  29. Hi Sarah,
Just a quick message to thank you for looking after Peanut for a few days whilst finding him a cage mate.
Peanut had been so lethargic and lonely since his old friend passed away and it seemed the only advice I could get with finding him a friend was to have him neutered which I was reluctant to do - your the only person who was willing to let him choose his own friend! Thanks for taking the time to pair him up with Button (as I have now named him!) They have been out in the run and Peanut, admittedly has been doing a spot of rumblestrutting but otherwise they're settled together and Peanut actually enjoys his exercise time now, rather than just sitting looking bored.
Thanks again Sarah, will definitely get my piggies from you in the future xx

On Tuesday when the ranch opened Sarah matched up ours with a lovely tri-colour piggie, with no name. We have since named her Treacle. The piggies are getting on great and both enjoy their treats of dandelion leaves and Cupcake is much happier. Thank you so much

  92. The six new members of our family are doing just fine. They are called Ginger, Barbie, Ratty, Little Ice, Blue Eyes and Fearless (as in earless Fearless!) Apparently according to Sarah her Mummy chewed her ears off but she is just a little sweetie and we love her to bits. Who in life is perfect?! The neutered male is sex mad and chases everyone else around the hutch after he has had his supper, but apart from that everyone gets on well. Thank you for the second hand hutch you found for me. I have tarted it up with Cuprinol colours "wild thyme and lavender" and it looks the business. Thank you Sarah, for the brilliant job you do in rehoming these lovely animals. It was a pleasure to deal with you. Thank you for the helpful advice. Heather.

  106. After losing Joey (13 months old) unexpectedly, leaving his loyal brother, I spent many days thinking what was best for Patch. Having received many mix suggestions, I booked him in for the 'SNIP' with the plan to find a female cage buddy as I was led to believe he could not be paired with a male of the same age and as Patch is a large piggy I didn't feel comfortable with him being paired with a baby. However, I was not comfortable with Patch having an operation, so I google piggy adoption. What can I say, Sarah really knows her piggy's! After trying him with 3 piggy's, Patch now has a new friend and he has kept his manhood, so we are all happy. I'm so please I didn't give up on Patch's happiness. Thank you Sarah!

I hadn't seen a guinea pig selecting its own mate before I went to the guinea pig ranch but in future I wouldn't consider doing it any other way. The way Wilbur and Jasper are popcorning around their run speaks volumes, and that's after only a couple of days. A match made in heaven I reckon - thank you so much Sarah and keep up the good work there!

  111. Hi Sarah - thank you so much for our 2 lovely piggies who we have named "William Champenay" and "Gonzo Chum-Chum". They have been with us a few weeks now, and were initially timid and jumpy when we were around, but have quickly settled in, and now like to be cuddled and always shout and bang their cage for breakfast and dinner!!!! The hutch was brilliant, and we have also built a big run in the garden, so they have been enjoying the lovely weather we have had recently.
Thank you again, you do a great job with rehoming the piggies, along with all your other commitments. we have been singing your praises, and advertising your ranch verbally - take care and good luck with your new addition - Clare xx

  117. Hi Sarah

Thank you so much for all your help and advice. It's great to meet someone so knowledgeable about guineas. Fluffy's cage mate, Silky didn't wake up one morning and Fluffy was alone. We were concerned about introducing a new cage mate but couldn't bear to see him alone. Sarah not only did you give Fluffy a full MOT but introduced him to several guineas. He chose a beautiful White Peruvian as his cage mate and they have settled in together so well. It's lovely to hear the happy guinea noises again as Fluffy was very quiet during the brief time he was alone. Sarah you're doing a wonderful job - I have recommended you to my local vet who will forward any enquiries from lonely guineas to you. Keep up the good work and many thanks from Pauline, Fluffy and Derek (named after my dad who had an unruly shock of white hair)

It's been a week today since we brought home three of your guineapigs home. We named them Honey, Meadow and Buddie. One of the guineapigs we gave a home to was Meadow and she only had 1 eye. Honey is very fluffy and she is the colour of honey. Meadow has patches of light and dark brown and only has 1 working eye. Buddy is dark brown and is very active and lively! I hope our other guineapig-Toffee-is having fun with her new friends as a week yesterday her sister Poppy died!

Thankyou very much Sarah and you have made me and Toffee very happy girls. I also hope every thing goes well with your new baby and keep up the excellent work.

I hated the idea of him living alone but I had heard about the potential problems of introducing a new friend to a mature (bossy) boar. Sarah carefully paired him up with Ziggy and they quickly became the best of friends. Ziggy was also a great pet for my two children. He seemed to love all the attention. Sadly he died recently and Fidget is again visiting The Guinea Pig Ranch to find a suitable buddy. Thankyou to Sarah and Chrissie( our local contact) for all your efforts.

  132. Sarah is to piggies what Steve Erwin was to crocs! She is so knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. She gave my piggie a little pamper session cutting his nails and cleaning his 'bits' up when I went over to find a friend for him. She spent loads of time finding the right friend for him. In the end our 'blackie' chose his own friend 'Jason' who has settled in really well.
Sarah has a lovely relaxed open house policy and her kids made my kids welcome and they all went off to play so we could concentrate on the piggies. Sarah also makes you aware that she's available for any probs/quest and she offers an annual piggie MOT bathing clipping nails etc for a small fee so I'll be back next year!
Thanks Sarah for your time and advice.

We discovered 'chestnut',a beautifully marked brown and white guinea pig, grazing at the bottom of our garden for seven days before finally capturing him. We were extremely concerned about his safety with the threat of cats and foxes ever present and were totally amazed at his survival over such a long period in bad weather conditions. He could have been there longer as I hadn't been down that end of the garden for several weeks. However, he was given a clean bill of health by Sarah! I would love to know how he's getting on and will keep in contact. What a wonderful service and your help meant so very much to us all.

  172. Piggies should never live on their own. What Sarah has is an amazing ability to find cage mates for any lonely piggy, young or old. Give adoption a try, you won't be disappointed. I've adopted five!

  175. Hi, Just wanted to say thank you so much for your advice. Gadget lost his brother Gizmo back in the summer, and we too were given conflicting advice about pairing another boy with him. I found the website by chance on the Friday, and by the Saturday evening Gadget had been for a visit and found a new mate, Crunchie, and both were back home in their hutch. They are getting on very well together, it is just what Gadget needed. I think what you do is brilliant and wouldnt hesitate to recommend you to anyone.

  176. Hi,Jerey sadly lost his play mate, Tom, over christmas. We were given different advise about pairing Jerey with another boy. Thanks to Sarah & Martins help Jerey had a new playmate within days. Jerey had a "sleepover" and Sarah successfully paired him up with Sooty. They have settled in well together and Sooty has deffinatley cheered Jerey up.
Many thanks for all the help and advise you have given us. Bryony will keep you informed on Sooty & Jereys tales. Thanks again Gail

  177. Hi, I just wanted to thank you again for providing a wonderful loving home for Madelline and Marmite. I am very sad to see them go but due to changes in circumstances i could no longer give them the life they deserve. I think what you two are doing is wonderful and i thank you very much. I look forward to receiving some pictures of them in their new home and i hope someone will love them as much as i do. Take Care. Sarah xx
